Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Purra is operated by SunEcoproducts LLC
("we", "us"). This policy covers the Purra website and the Purra iOS app. The short
version: there are no accounts, we don't ask for your name or email in the app, we don't
store your photos, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
The website (this site)
- Waitlist email: if you join the waitlist, we store the email
address you give us, plus anything you choose to type in the optional "what plastic do
you want gone?" box and which link or ad brought you to the page. This is held by our
hosting provider, Netlify. We use it only to send Purra early-access updates and, if you
asked, your swap suggestions. We never buy, sell or share email lists. Unsubscribe
anytime by replying to any email, and we'll delete your address.
- No tracking cookies. This site sets no advertising cookies and
runs no ad-tracking scripts. Like any website host, Netlify keeps standard server logs
(such as IP address and pages requested) for security and basic visit counts.
- Buy links: see "Affiliate links" below.
The app: what leaves your phone
- No account, no name, no email. The app works without sign-up and
never asks who you are.
- Install ID: the first time you open Purra, it makes a random ID for
that installation. It isn't tied to your name, your Apple ID or any hardware or
advertising identifier, and deleting the app deletes it. It's sent with each AI search,
together with your IP address, so we can apply fair-use limits. These counters are kept
for up to a day.
- Photos: a photo you take is sent securely to our backend and on to
our AI provider (see below) to identify the product, then discarded.
Purra never stores your photos.
- What you type and your answers: descriptions you type and your
answers to the quick questions (budget, size and so on) are sent to our backend and our
AI provider to find matches. We don't keep a record of them linked to you.
- Usage analytics: the app records simple events, such as "a search
started", "recommendations shown", "buy tapped", the item searched when we have no match,
your onboarding answers (for example which room you start with), when the subscription
screen is shown, whether you subscribed, products you mark as bought, and errors. These
are keyed to the install ID, not to your identity, and are never used for advertising.
Today these events stay on your phone; when we switch on our analytics provider
(PostHog), they will be sent there on the same terms.
The app: what stays on your phone
- Your saved list, the products you mark as bought, recently searched categories, your
onboarding answers and your layout preference are stored on your device only. Deleting
the app deletes them.
AI processing (Anthropic)
To find swaps, Purra sends your photo or description to Anthropic, the company that
makes the Claude AI models, which processes it on our behalf. The app asks for your
agreement once, before your first AI search, and you can keep browsing the catalog without
agreeing. Under our API agreement, Anthropic does not use these inputs to train its models.
Purra itself does not store your photos.
Subscriptions (Purra Pro)
Purra Pro is sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment
details, name or Apple ID. The app learns from Apple only whether this device has an active
subscription, so it can unlock Pro features. Manage or cancel anytime in your iPhone's
Settings → your name → Subscriptions. See our Terms
for renewal details.
Affiliate links
Buying happens on the retailer's own site, not in Purra. Some buy links are affiliate
links: the retailer pays us a commission at no extra cost to you, and it never affects what
we recommend or how results are ranked (disclosure). When you
tap a buy link, the retailer or an affiliate network such as Skimlinks may set a cookie in
your browser so the sale can be credited to us. The app passes only the product link, never
your install ID or anything about you. Their own privacy policies apply once you're on
their site.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers that run Purra for us: Supabase (backend hosting), Anthropic
(AI photo and text understanding), Netlify (website and waitlist), Apple (subscriptions),
and, once switched on, PostHog (app analytics). We don't sell data, share it with data
brokers, or use it for targeted advertising, and the app does not track you across other
companies' apps or websites.
Children
Purra is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal
information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us
and we'll delete it.
Your choices
- Delete the app to remove the install ID and everything stored on your phone.
- Email us to remove your waitlist address or ask what we hold about you.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the
change takes effect.
