Purra is free to use. Here is exactly how it makes money, and exactly what that does — and doesn't — change about what we recommend.
The short version. Some of the "buy" links on this site and in the Purra app are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commission never affects which products we recommend or how they are ranked. Nobody can pay to be listed, ranked higher, or named a Purra Pick.
Commissions are paid by the retailer out of their own margin. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or type the retailer's address yourself. Not every link earns anything — many of the products we recommend pay us nothing at all, and we recommend them anyway when they're the better choice.
Every product in our catalog has to clear the same four checks before it is eligible to appear at all: genuinely plastic-free materials, at least 20 real customer reviews, at least one independent editorial mention, and a verified photo and price. Ranking is then decided by those quality signals only. Commission rate is not an input, and we do not sell placement, sponsored slots, or "featured" positions to brands. When a category has no product that genuinely clears the bar, we say so rather than filling the gap with something that pays.
Commissions reach us either directly through a retailer's own affiliate program or through third-party affiliate networks that connect publishers with retailers. Those networks may set a cookie in your browser when you tap a buy link, so the retailer can attribute a purchase back to us. See our privacy policy for what is and isn't collected.
